Our Medium dehumidifier is an ideal all-rounder  dehumidifier ready for any situation. It can be used in smaller settings to dry small flood events such as a leaking washing machine but has a large enough capacity to dry those major water damage events such as multistage water damage events in office buildings located in central business districts. This commercial dehumidifier can tackle open areas and has a durable rotomolded polymer chassis that withstand impacts and scratches with ease. This dehumidifier can extract up to 65L-70L of moisture/water from the environment per day!

What does a dehumidifier do?

This LGR dehumidifier takes in the moist air and runs it through freezing coils which bring the air to dew point. The moisture is turned to liquid and drips down to its tank which is auto-pumped periodically down a hose placed in a drain.  Lastly this air is run through a heater to warm the air up in order to increase its capacity to hold moisture, before being pushed out of the unit. In combination with our air movers  / carpet dryers / blowers creating a system of distribution of dry air and pushing moisture into the air, it helps create an effective drying cycle. This drying system has been used in the industry for decades as a proven method of effective drying. We recommend that before drying, you remove the source of the excess moisture such as a hole in the roof, a leaking washing machine or a burst flexi-hose. Additionally, water extraction using a portable extraction machine is recommended to rid the area of all free standing water, our carpet cleaning machine does this job quite nicely. Extracting the water first significantly improves the drying time.

Tips and Tricks

One factor to consider with these unit is that you will need 2 people and a van / ute to transport them since they weigh  roughly ~40Kg. Also, they cannot be laid down in transport and must be standing up. If this is an issue, then we recommend downsizing to a smaller dehumidifier.

We recommend to use between 2 to 4 fans along with the dehumidifier. This is to help circulate the air in rooms, ensuring the most effective and speedy remediation.

Typical Uses

• Water Damage (Carpet and Structure) –
  Especially in combination with air movers, the 70L dehumidifier is perfect for small and large spaces alike. It is able to draw moisture out of the air and from surfaces and air movers help deliver the dried air back to these places, where more moisture is evaporated and picked up by the dehumidifier. This effective drying cycle repeats over and over again.
• Corrosion Control –
  This unit will suit corrosion control works by lowering the humidity to enable work such as blasting or coating.
• Construction Drying –
  Using an LGR dehumidifier such as this enables you to remove water from the environment to a lower level than non-LGR units. This makes it perfect for construction drying where water may be more deeply bound than residential water damage.
• Prevent Mould Growth –
  By lowering the humidity in the environment, you can prevent further mould growth.
